Fluorescent Scannable Crayon

Carmel Fluorescent Scannable Crayons are lumber markers specially formulated to mark planks which are then read by specialized scanning machines that sort lumber. This product works with chop saws and grade mark readers for visual applications. This scannable crayon comes in the whole color spectrum, which means greater system flexibility and adaptability.

Used to mark planks read by specialized scanning machines such as grade mark readers and UV scanning systems that sort lumber.

  • X-LONG: 5 ½” (13.97 cm) Size 5 ½” x ½” hex (13.97 x 1.27 cm). 1 inch longer than 4 ½” inch crayons.

I purchased 5 boxes. 1 box had every crayon basically split in 1/2. Not a big deal as its still usable but annoying. The crayon itself is a bit " soft/brittle". We really need to adjust our pressure we push down on the wood to mark. Again not a big deal but it took a bit of time to figure out. Even other brands we have tried - all seem to have the same hardness to them. On GRN lumber its good but on KD lumber , we go through a crayon way too quick.
